Another Fantastical Weekend in the Catskills! 2021
This marked the 23rd year that Nino has been taking groups to the Catskills for dancing. Affectionately called, our “Dirty Dancing” weekend, for many of us it’s our way of living out our inner Johnny and Baby, going back in time, yet being in the present and learning more dances for our future. Every year seems to be the best year ever, but this was especially sweet. For many of us it was our first time dancing unmasked in almost 2 years. Because of continued Covid spread, caution, and protocols, the attendance was down a bit, but boy did the 250 or so people there have a total blast.
In addition to our very own dance pro, Nino DiGiulio, the weekend was highlighted by classes and performances by West Coast Swing Champions, Ben Morris, Victoria Henk, and John Lindo. May I Have This Dance instructors Amanda Derus and Nicole Gifford were also on hand teaching workshops, dancing with everyone and helping to host the Quick Quick Slow Travel group.
